The ‘Wear it Pink Day’ for Breast Cancer Awareness was on 29th October, but The Stage Door in Lerwick has thought up a different take on this fundraising theme. The fancy dress and gift shop has devoted their large window on Commercial Street to display 24 pairs of novelty boobs, and each time they raise £20 a pair of breasts gets covered up by one of the bras that they have hanging on their display washing line! An excellent idea for a very worthy charity, so if you are in town drop by and donate some cash to the cause.

Today is the 1st of Movember and that means it’s Moustache growing season. All for a good cause you know! The rules are simple: you have to be clean shaven on the 1st November then don’t shave your moustache again until the 1st December while good folk give you sponsorship money. This event originated in Australia in 2003 and has since grown to become a worldwide charity fundraiser, last year taking in over £26m for male cancer charities.

Some of the guys at work have decided to join in this year so if you see a sponsorship form at our offices donate a few quid for a good cause.
